Gents,
Today I would like to share an interesting example of a USAF souvenir jacket from the 436th FTR DAY SQ. This was one of the first USAF wings to be equipped with the North American F-100A Super Sabre, receiving its first aircraft in November 1953. It became operationally ready with the F-100A on September 29, 1954.
The condition of this example is amazing considering it’s over 65 years.
This jacket was made in Japan. It is fully reversible and all the construction is made of black and gold silk. YKK zipper is fully reversible and works perfectly.
Left chest depicts a Japanese embroidered 436th FTR DAY SQ “SEMPER PRIMUS” insignia.
The back depicts a beautifully embroidered F-100A Super Sabre at full thrust with the words “436th FTR DAY SQ, 1st SUPERSONIC SQ” around the airplane making this piece unique!
Say no more guys, here are some pics to entertain!
Regards,
Jorge
