Civilian "Irvin" type jacket

Hello to all!

I'm looking for some infos about this "Irvin" type civilian jacket i found a year ago. I was wondering about his production era, due to the "Clix" zipper i assume it's from the 60's/70's, am I right? I I was also wondering about the strange shiny/plastic feel material it's made of, is it even real leather? The inside fur part is genuine sheep fur for me, but the outside seems very odd.

Aviation Leather Craft. For some years it was the only repro Irvin on sale but since the 1980's has been completely outclassed by jackets made by Eastman and Aero.

That’s shearling. Shearling jackets don’t have a leather exterior, the outside of the jacket is literally the inside of the animal’s skin. The plastic feel you described is a protective coating that is applied to the exterior of the coat. Nearly every other maker does something similar.

Not too shabby. ALC jackets are very well made and yes it's an earlier one which are actually better than the modern iterations. Obviously the hardware isn't wartime accurate but if it fits then they're a damn good winter jacket. Definitely a keeper and a wearer if it fits.

The addvert in Flypast magazine I snail mailed them they snail mailed me
A catalog and size chart I snail mailed it back and a Money order and
Then a in couple weeks I had the jacket the garnered so many compliments
A friendship that lasted nearly 30 years now , this crazy guy Grabbed
Going through a shopping mall to ask about the jacket then later hunted
Me down via a motorcycle shop that called me to tell me this crazy guy
Was trying to reach me ( actuall true story )
I loved that jacket, beat the hell out of it , off-road motorcycle riding in
The fall , Tobogganing inner tubing down hills in the winter
I nearly bought one again but the website kept crashing when I tried to pay
And coincidentally on the third attempt noble house contacted me and I went

Anyone got any idea of the model Or maker please, very good quality especially the seams on the shoulders, wonderful colour and patina, thanks

It’s got no pockets, which the later ones had, so it’s closer to a wartime Irvin than the ones they make now. By no means a bad jacket.
