Cheaper alternative to Royal Mail??

Does anyone in the UK know of a cheaper alternative to RM, which I presume is Parcelforce? I'm hoping to have a pair of boots sent over and the price quoted was over 80 quid which would pretty much kill the deal for me. I have a feeling I've heard somewhere that there are far cheaper Courier options available that still offer tracking. Failing that I'll have to get them smuggled into Dr H's luggage and then have him send them from NZ.

A quick opinion would be really appreciated.

Size 9 1940 pattern Ian. Just wear your RAF battledress and see if they will give you a job up the front. When are you leaving just in case there's a remote possibility.

It'll be in Late October so it'll depend on how urgently you need them, but the offer is there.

Thanks Ian. I'm not in a rush but they're intended for something that I believe will be taking place in early Oct so it seems the timing won't work. Very kind of you just the same. Surely you can just leave sooner? :D

So any idea of alternative couriers?

DHL ? When I get stuff from Germany it's DHL all the time, but their price may be low due to a deal with ebay, so I dunno about DHL cost for regular shipments.

Go to the Parcel2Go site and check their price comparisons, Parcel Force is always way more expensive than TNT or DHL..the prices quoted on Parcel2Go are often cheaper than if you go to the courier direct, you will need weight, size of package and insurance value.

That's what I was quoted to send a B-9 parka to Japan. Outrageous. Paul is right. Have a look around online and you should be able to get it down to around £50. Still outrageous, in my opinion.

True.
I took a look and the rate with FedEx is about 53 which is almost bearable. So how does it work, i presume they pick up from your door and provide some sort of satchel?
