The emblem on his jacket closely resembles the 94th Pursuit Squadron of the 1st Pursuit Group .

The images are from 'Only Angels Have Wings' from 1939 and directed by Howard Hawks (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0031762/) - starring Cary Grant and Rita Hayworth among others.

thanks gents, it was just to know the release date of this movie, just to have a "maximum" date to place on this jacket wich his (for me) "special"

can someone tell us if it's a civilian or a USAAC contract

Also check the 1st Pursuit Group, you'll see the 103rd emblem later became the 94th Pursuit Sq.
