Can you date and identify this A2?

Came across this A2 yesterday and I am a bit puzzled by its origin. It is a very soft leather, most likely goatskin. The zipper is a chunky Scovill probably from a different jacket. The lining has been changed and so have the knits. Never saw such a high collar and shape of pockets. It seems to be a 40 short. Fairly short but more of a boxy build. Can you help from the pics to identify this jacket? Is is a maybe a 50s civilian version ? Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I was looking at the pics, and didn't notice you had already posted the zipper type. If I had to guess, mid-late 80's.. The pocket flap scallops, and other details varied over the years, but here is a pic of a Protech from around 1987:

I particularly like some of the Protech A-2's. I was able to date the pic I posted since I had a new one just like it purchased in 1987 with the same pocket flap scallops. Protech switched designs on them often over the years from what I've seen.

EDIT: Damn.. It just dawned on me how long ago that was....I was only 24 years old. I owned my first flight jacket (1950's G-1) when I was 13 years old.. Where have the years gone? :(
