BrillBross/Golden Thread Outerwear G1

Hey Folks,

A quick question, are you familiar with how to exactly date "civil" G1 made by BrillBros [some historical records https://npgallery.nps.gov/GetAsset/90c61910-b1f0-45b9-bb22-40e360f7f26c] Golden Thread Outerwear label with "over 80 years"? This additional "over 80 years" can help a bit [80 years since the company was created]. Based on all details I assume that this matches 80's BrillBros contracts. Do you know any specific way how to find an estimated production year?

Hey Thomas,

I haven't seen yet any proper reference regarding the Golden Thread Outerwear. I can assume that yours is a bit older, on mine you can see added "over 80 years". The question about this is - did they count from 1922 [I doubt honestly] or it is a salesman trick related to their pre-1922 experience regarding leather jobs?

Based on all appearances for Golden Threads jackets I believe that these are from the 80s. But how to find out a manufacture date, honestly no idea. I have also a contract BrillBros G1 from the '70s and the leather/lining is way different. Anyway, these with Golden Thread labels are cool US-made vintage jackets and more interesting than any Pakistani repros [in my opinion]. Plus sometimes, these jackets can be purchased as real bargains.

If any flight jackets gimp here can help with more information about how to exactly date these, just let us know ;)
