I'm looking for some info about the brands and type of zippers that were used on G-1's during the 1960's and 1970's on the MIL-J-7823A tru E series. So far I could find these brands :
CONMAR (nickel/brass ?)
SCOVILL (only brass)
TALON (nickel and brass) A and B
IDEAL ? (brass) not sure
SAVAL ? (brass) not sure
GENERAL (brass) I believe these were only used in the 80's ?
I believe they all run on a 9 mm track and are a No. 2 type ? style zipper. Why are most of the
zippers used CONMAR/SCOVILL ? did they have a monopoly ? also noticed that STAR used at
least 4 different brands.
