BR collar question

The fur on my B-2 is artificial. Should if be real fur?
Feel slightly cheated on a £1k jacket...
Just checked the BR site for the description and found this -
Storm collar made of cinnamon-brown, genuine mouton fur that allows you to laugh at winter’s biting wind

This looks like a mis-leading statement to say the least as the collar is clearly made from a fabric based artificial wool/fur.
Any lawyers here ???

Are you sure, John? I'm pretty sure that mine is mouton; it even has a small balding patch at the front of the collar where it contacts my neck. I have to admit though, you've made me curious/nervous. I'm going to pull the jacket back out of storage when I get home today and check.

Definitly fabric based adtficial wool. I can't understand why they would do this on such an expensive jacket.
It still one my favourites.

Sorry could be a false alarm. Some panicked me and the skin does look very like fabric when the wool is parted. I think though it is leather and the confusion arose because of the contrast in colour between the wool and the skin making it look like the scalp of a doll.
Mea Culpa

While at it, check if the cuffs are real/fake angora/cashmir though. They may look good, but it has been rumoured recently....

Could it have had some cosmetic work done John? ;)

I can see why you thought that, John. I double-checked mine last night and it does look a bit like a doll's head. Like you said, there is a big contrast between the hair color and the bone white sheepskin beneath. The way the dye soaked into the hair makes the sheepskin look like it has a cloth like texture.

I'm convinced that it is actually mouton though. You had me going for a bit there.

Noel,
For a while I was 100 % certain that it was artificial. My wife had said many times that the collar looked like nylon.
Just goes to show how easy it is to make false assumptions.
It is a relief to be sure that it is sheepskin!
This whole saga began when a friend in Germany told me that his new jacket had an artificial collar and for a while he convinced me. He now accepts his mistake.
Aparently BR are not offering this jacket in 2012.
Which do you prefer the BR or The Few?

That's too bad that Buzz Rickson's isn't offering this jacket for 2012. Maybe that's why HPA is selling them for well below retail price. I suppose they don't sell nearly as many B-2s as some of their other jackets.

Buzz vs. The Few: that's a tough one. I like both of them for different reasons. I'd say the fit is slightly better with The Few version. Hell, they are both great; I can't choose one.
