Beautiful Ed Church M-422A

I bought this jacket from a forum member a week ago (it did not fit him) and this is a beauty it was completely refurbished with new lining, new fur collar and new knits. THe job done on this jacket is outstanding. The stich ppoints have all been reused and it is hard to tell some of the components were replaced. It is a perfect fit for. I wore it a lot last week and it is a perfect wearer. I am not afraid to damage anything on this jacket (not that I do not take care of my jackets but I have always been overcautious with original linings and fur collars).

What a beauty!!!! Congrats on an absolutely splendid jacket. Who did the refurbishing?

I think it is someone in Oakland, Zolan or something. The job is really outstanding. Where do you live by the way?

Great patina!! That's something my ELC M422A will probably never develop: the upper surface of that jacket seems to be made of a plastic lacquer of a very sturdy kind.

Thats a brilliant jacket and excellently refurb'd - I've long wanted an original M442/a but top condition ones are tough to find in the larger sizes. I question though if it loses 'something' with a refurb? Am I being picky if I said I think the collar should be a little more pointed? That is one of the reasons why personally I like the M442/a as opposed to the G1 although having said that, I'm the prould owner of an early '57 Cagleco which is closer to the M442 than later versions (collar and pocket flap style) and what prompted me to go for it.
Of course it's personal and thats still one lovely jacket plus if the jackets new 'bits' replaced poor ones then full marks, a bit like renewing the bits to make a plane fly again!!!

cheers

I also love 100% original jackets but as a practical wearer this one actually makes way more sense. The collar is actually spot on for a Ed Church jacket. I used to own a 100% original Ed Church and the collar was exactly the same shape. Pictures of the jacket:

If there's someone who can do work like that on the west coast, I need to know! Can you confirm the name of the tailor that did the work? And maybe a contact # or site?

Nice one. Keep that leather conditioned and keep wearing it!

I think the name is Zoltan (or sth like this) and is based out of Oakland. That's all I know. I never used him myself but I know his job is outstanding and this jacket is a case in point :)
