I guess it would make sense if you lived in that part of the world and could get reasonable shipping.
Shipping was included in the price, and receive their product in 48 hours. (if that was not a pre-order)

Need to pay shipping for Bronson, as Bronson only ask 1/3 compare to Gizmo.

I tried to know the price and fee for shipping to France, but no way...

I'd hope someone over there was reading what happened to Greg and realize the repercussions on sales and general reputation of their outfit, not holding my breath...
I doubt it, unfortunately. We’re a drop in the bucket compared to the people in China who will buy from them and get their jacket in 2 days with free shipping. As with Buzz Rickson and RMC, we’re not the target audience.

Gizemo will not get my cash.

This seems entirely unfair. The unfortunate disappearance of Greg's jacket is no fault of Gizemo. He ordered the B10 through an established Chinese proxy (Superbuy I think). They ordered the jacket at his behalf at Gizemo and it was subsequently delivered to them (as evidenced by the photo's the proxy send Greg). This ends Gizemo's responsibility as a retailer/maker. The proxy then sent the jacket to Greg in Europe using a courier or postal service he chose. Along the way the jacket dissapeared from the package (unless the proxy never put it there, which would surprise me, Superbuy is a well established company.) So the courier service (international or local or even the customs office if they got a hold of it) is probably at fault somewhere along the way. Possibly stolen by an unscrupulous employee...

My assessment as well.

Respectfully, that's your version of what might have happened and you may be spot-on, and my chinese colleague says about the same, and I also think it's a possibility. But until Greg gets to the bottom of it, if he can, Gizemo and the chain of supply/proxy from china is painted with the same wide brush. I mean Mulceber did cancel his order right after this came out.

It's not a question of fairness, it's about will I trust that chain of supply with my cash...

By the way event my chinese colleague, that still deals with mainland china, said "are sure you want to take a chance..." when I was surfing Taobao and needed translation...

I was saying it would be interesting if someone from Gizemo like let's say 5* does, would comment on this.

But why does Gizemo need to comment? They had an order from within China (the proxy) and fulfilled it. They never got an order from Greg. It's like blaming a manufacturer if an eBay deal with one of their already sold and delivered products goes wrong.

I guess there is a risk involved using this chain of supply with proxies, especially if you don't use an expensive service with insurance (which will be more expensive still if customs gets their cut), since there are more steps and less rules with added risk, but that's not an issue with Gizemo. Not wanting to take that risk I entirely understand, but it is wrong to blame Gizemo as a company in this.

In other post here, I said, ‘Too bad the thing end up like this.’
I know Bronson‘s and Real Simon’s was and still here. But I doubt Gizemo‘s was visited or created an account here, it looks like they have interest cooperation with various Japanese businesses.

exactly… Gizemo use best shipping service for their customers in China. I heard their customers complain about their products, for various reasons, but never heard anyone complain about their shipping too slow or unsafe( item lost).

Yeah, Superbuy sent Greg photos of the jacket, so it at least made it to them. The problem occurred sometime between when they received it and when the box showed up on Greg's doorstep. That's not Gizemo's fault.

As for why I cancelled my order, my logic wasn't "Greg's jacket was stolen" => "I don't trust Gizemo." It was more...
1. Gizemo is being slow on sending the jacket to Superbuy, and a quick google search told me that *may* mean they're actually sold out and just aren't bothering to respond to Superbuy's requests that they send the jacket (since after a while superbuy will just cancel the order anyway).
2. Greg's experience means I'm probably going to have to opt for a much more expensive shipping method to avoid theft.
3. I'm looking to upgrade the zipper and that's going to be expensive too.
Therefore: this is getting expensive, and there's a good chance the order is going to get cancelled on their end anyway, I might as well end it now and go to John, who will do a much better job of it anyway.

Agreed!

Imagine if Gizemo would give us a "Best practises" with ordering from outside mainland.

I agree with you taiAtari...

My wish for a presence or comment from Gizemo is not so they have to defend themselves...

Anyways it's going the other way I was hoping so no need to feed this anymore.

I hope you enjoy your Gizemo kits as they look very good and detailed.

Cheers,

Dany

Totally justified, I would do the same. I was just about to order some stuff (Gizemo and scale models) from Taobao with the help of my colleague.... errr no.
