Interesting patch on this one, B-17 training in Florida, so I presume its a Florida alligator. Image titled 'Tampa Florida - Flying BombersMarch 1942.

Minor thing, but I noticed that as broken in as that A-2 looks, the knits look tight! Embroidered patch, perchance?

I also thought Aero -- unless it's the rare Lacoste A-2.

The patch on his A-2 is the 52nd Bombardment squadron of the 29th Bombardment Group, they were eventually stationed in the Carribean and under the 20th AAF.

My guess is a 1940 Aero, judging by the collar stand, shape of the pockets and collar.
