Thanks very much…will keep looking, hoping to get something from the same era as the jacket.
Seconded. It really isn't enough to just say "it's a Werber." All these jacket contracts had different zippers, and Werber had about a half dozen A-2 contracts alone. Post a photo that shows the label, and we can offer you better advice.Post an image, it's worth the effort....
Not a lot to work with and just to clarify, is it Werber Sportswear?

That was my first thought but it seems to have patch pockets. We are getting there albeit slowly. So it looks to be a D-1 jacket that has been fitted with a DOT zip - a type commonly found on WW2 British Irvin type flying jackets.
Perhaps you could advise us of your location, nothing too specific a country will do. This will aid us advising you further. Period DOT zips are not that common as jacket restorers / collectors are often after them to repair their own items.
Your jacket is American so would in all likelihood have been fitted with a US made zip.
Perhaps post some full images of the jacket itself. Have you posted about it here before?
Steve correct me if I'm wrong, but is that a full British air ministry zipper on there? Puller and full ladder and stopper, looks old too like it's been on there a long timeWe are getting there albeit slowly. I was thinking the same, were jackets from a USAAF base in the UK ever sent for repairs in the UK? Or were repairs on baseIt might have been a wartime repair. Or maybe they had a batch of zips and just used what they had. Or perhaps the jacket's manufacture was subcontracted to a Canadian company?
