It's an American Sportswear AN 6552 jacket from their 1943-4 contract-N288S 24332. The yellow US on the collar and the ring under arm vents are typical of this maker. It could easily be mistaken for a Block jacket with the yellow US, but Block used sticking to reinforce the vent holes.

I think you meant to say Block (as in H. & L. Block), used stitching, rather than sticking, around the vent hole in the underarm area. As opposed to the metal grommet style vent thingies.

Love one of the questions on the bottom:

Hi, I'm from San Francisco, would you take $300 for it
Answer: NO

That's good!

That question may have come from a VLJ member, not sure.

Of course not! ;) Unfortunately the restrictive editing time limit here makes any changes to posts impossible. :( Nevertheless it's an American Sportwear jacket in such good condition that I guess someone made the seller an offer he could not refuse.

I meant to say American Sportswear, got confused. My point was to say Block used the stitching, (not sticking). Sorry for the confusion, would have edited also if I could have.

Thanks. I thought that is what it was an AN 6552 but wasn't sure of the maker

There is something odd looking about the jacket. It's in great shape though.

I agree. The proportions look all wrong. It looks very long, especially for an AN6552, which are known to be short in the body.
