AN-6552 [WILLIS AND GEIGER INC. CONTRACT N288s32357]

Hey folks,

I was looking for an older jacket than the NAM G-1 [I saw a few recently but conditions or prices for well-worn jackets were always not good enough] for a reconstruction project [to see how far I can push myself regarding replacements - zipper and knitted parts are no big issue, just haven't worked yet on the lining and collar fur replacement] and purchased this well-worn jacket today. Leather looks not too bad [in my opinion] - hopefully, this can be an interesting project. Have to finish with the current restoration of the Korean War jacket, but honestly prefer to spend time in a more effective way than quasi-tailoring activities. This could wait until the late fall...

Yep, it was a nice deal, [submitted this to discuss something with the seller, and after getting his fantastic answer I was really surprised]... about the zipper, I'm also happy to see this type.
Please feel free to freshen it up a bit and resell it here for $1,2450.
Luckily, I'm not interested in reselling even with a relatively high profit.

Finally arrived, I'm very happy as was expecting something in super worn condition ..... big surprise, leather is super smooth. It was well spent 80$ for this AN-6522 CONTRACT N288s32357 ;)

Great deal! Personally I wouldn't mess with it too much. Is the collar falling apart or just worn? If it's just wear on the mouton I'd leave that alone- it can never be replicated. That leather is elven gnome leather- how does it last so long?

Hey ZuZu,

Indeed it was a deal of this year for me [I try to minimize compulsive shopping of old military garments and have more fun activities, but made an exception for this one]. What is interesting thing, furless parts are not very visible when the jacket is on. I'll consider leaving this as it is - mouton is more "blondish" than in pictures which is fantastic. Getting a ginger one for replacement is an easy task [especially when you have access to thriftstores] but finding a matching one in this brighter shade, would be a challenge - especially without organoleptic checking and buying online. I'll really consider not interfering too much in the current condition, thanks!
