Amazing WWII Navy pilot watch

I just acquired this watch and cleaned it up. It was really dirty but it works flawlessly. While not an issued watch it nonetheless belonged to a WWII Naval aviator. THe back is engraved with the following:

Frank A McKeon
From Mom and Dad
12-8-42

I wish I could find information on that pilot

Pretty neat. That's quite the band!

Thanks Jeff. I love the band. The watch had probably never been taken off this very band. It was very hard to remove as the pins between the lugs were impossible to retract from age, grime, sweet, verdigris... you name it. I will take a pic of the engraving and post it later but it's nice to have it named AND dated.
