Hard to believe this beauty is 72 years old. Looking over this jacket in detail it's amazing the quality of the goatskin and construction that went into making this Korean War era flying jacket.

Have to agree with you about the Korean era G-1s! I have a 1947ish Star which is basically new. Just the best- like this one. Congrats!

What's cool about the Korean era G-1s is that they're basically made of indestructible materials (ditto the WW2 stuff if as I think they were sewn with silk and not cotton). The collars can be iffy if the jacket is well used or dried out but if they were stored well they'll last another 75 years!

A Monarch G-1 is one of the nicest of all the earlier contracts . The quality of the workman and materials is just outstanding .

Is good to see how folks take time to study these jackets, even serious collectors like yourself still finding out things after all these years
The G1’s do stand up remarkably well, bearing in mind these are military garments and probably not expected to have lasted as long as they have let alone become such collectible items
