Aero A2 quality check?

Hi all, I just received my A2 from Aero which I like the general fit/look of but had some concerns about the quality which I would like to get the opinions of you experienced folk here. On inspection I noticed quite a few cracks in the leather and areas where the top finish has come off, mostly close to where the stitching is. I emailed Aero about this and they've said that because the Jerky leather is a teacore leather with a lighter base, that it is just more obvious and that these cracks at stitching and joins/seams is normal. Is that accurate? To me the large crack on the shoulder in particular does not seem reasonable for a good quality brand new jacket? As for the teacore, I thought it was a more gradual worn in look with graduations of colour at areas of wear and would not look like the finish had been entirely scratched off when brand new nor that it make the stitching holes look so much more messy (and customer service also didn't mention any of this or even that it was a teacore leather when I was choosing leather type/colours etc). I also didn't think I saw any brand new jackets that looked like this in photos when I was doing my online research prior to ordering. Anyway, I'd be keen to know if you all think this is normal and expected quality for an Aero jacket and teacore leather and I'm just being too particular, or if I am right to be disappointed? Thank you! I didn't think it should have passed quality control but I've not had an Aero jacket nor teacore leather before. I could return it but with the cost of shipping both ways and duties/tax, it would be a lot of wasted money and I do actually like the general look and fit of the jacket...(the shoulders are a little tight when crossing arms but that seems normal for this style and I'm expecting will relax once worn in)

To my eye, a couple of the later photos look like they might be teacore, but the early ones really are just QC failures.

Thank you! I'm assuming one of those would be the large crack on the shoulder? Would you be able to comment on which of the other ones you think are QC failures? (I'm thinking once I get more opinions I will email them back and try to argue my case for a replacement or at least a partial refund...) Thanks!

Without seeing more photos I’ll reserve judgement on any possible QC issues, although would say that after just one or two wears the jacket will probably naturally pick up other more similar marks. However, Jerky Horsehide is clearly described as being ‘Teacore’ in the ‘Our Leathers’ guide on the Aero website.

I think they use needles that are too thick and sew too fast, which causes the leather to burst when the needle comes out.


And I would send the jacket back.

Yes this has been noted before about needle blow out.
That one on the shoulder is bad. That's a crack not teacore wear
