Aero 21996 weathering pics

I put all this stuff on Instagram and facebook feeds but forget to post the fun stuff here as well. I need to get better at that, after all this forum is where I started a long time ago-

I have been messing around with weathering and getting a worn in look on some of my jackets and thought you all might like to see this one. I LOVE doing the weathering, it takes me back to my model building days making airplanes, tanks, cars, space ships, and the odd PT boat here and there. Hardest part is to stop...

That jacket is spot on and your "ageing" so pretty decent compared to some other dudes overdoing it ...

like the reddish knittings on yer jacket

The jacket in the pics is sold pending try-on.

To figure out the technique I had to try a bunch different dyes, etc. until I found one that would wash back off and wear the way I want it to without damaging the hide or dousing it with Methel Ethyl Ketone (as a former aircraft mechanic I'm sure I have more than enough of that in my liver already). I dye the hides, make the jacket, then "weather" it and apply a top finish.
