Hi,
I posted a photo I found in a blog earlier this week, so went back to LIFE and found a few more on the same subject.

Whoa! Great photos!!! Thanks for posting. The pin up art on their Mae West's are very cool.
Can you imagine getting away with that in today's USN?

Interesting photos. Looks like anything went in terms of cold-weather clothing. Some of the guys appear to be wearing Army OD wool.

Stu, these are a great set of photographs!

The one thing that strikes me is that this particular jacket seen below exhibits an unusual construction technique.

That inside lapel portion of this jacket has been extended. This same jacket construction technique is reminiscent of my much later model 7823 ( AER) G-1 made by Werber. Knowing the approximate date should make for an easy identification of this jacket's maker.

Does anyone out there recognize this particular maker?

Cheers, Dave

I would say H&L Block?

I have 2 M422a and a a AN6552 and this construction feature is on both jackets. I also have the Werber 7823 – not aware of any other manufacturers that had this feature – possibly Monarch but not sure.
