That picture is featured in the book I have " cowboys of the sky" by Gilles Lhote and Jeff Clyman
It's fills page 23. Also shown is a colour close up of the patch which will give you a good reference.

I can put the picture up if struggling to get the book.

With all the A1 activity, would appreciate that photo. I recently bought hearts, clubs, spades, and diamond punches that I haven't put to use yet.

No problems.
It's a patch I have always loved and wanted to put onto a A2 / A1 jacket in a distressed vintage appearance, so as soon as I saw the picture posted I knew where to go.

Actually I believe the emblem represents the early 77th Pursuit Squadron which became the latter 77th Fighter Squadron .
