Just found this ad in a Flypast magazine from 1995...one of these ads was the reason I contacted ELC via mail, requested a catalogue and bought a B-2 Cap, A-10 gloves (which I lost after 6 months-still could bite my a#* off) as sort of quality check first and then ordered my B-3...the rest is history or so they say....

Yes, it was a loose leaf collection in a paper folder featuring their different styles they had back then on the individual leaves...I have that one plus the samples as well somewhere... To include leather, lining and shearling and fur samples was a brilliant idea...

Me too, it's probably among a few selected issues of Flypast, Friends Of The Eighth newsletters, Eighth Air Force Historical Society magazines, 91st BMA newsletters, 398th BG newsletters and 355th FG newsletters etc etc.

I used to subscribe to Flypast & The Aeroplane and other magazines but when the piles grew a bit too big would go through and select issues to keep and pass others onto friends or the museum shop.

Oh yeah! Buying them back then, keeping them stowed away safely over the years and selling them now could have been quite a nice form of investment :D
A sort of Jorge light... :D

I also had Flypast, Aeroplane, Air Forces Monthly, Flight Journal etc. Subscribed and still have the mags stowed away in boxes at my parents...
Its great to browse through them from time to time, for various reasons...

Oh I remember it well. Here is a little collage of the loose leaf product offerings, the samples, insignia catalogue, etc., all leading up to the Golden book of vintage flight apparel. I had to wipe some drool marks off before taking the picture. Great memories.
