Thanks to marcel for the link to this site. This photo encapsulates the mystique of the A-2, for me, illustrating the 'atttiude' I love, especially the officer between the other two. Wonder what make and model jackets presented here, eh?

Hands in the pockets?! - Well, he's earned the right.

ISTR Jimmy Stewart striking a similar pose - whether in an A-2 or not I can't recall. (He wore a Rough Wear 1401.)

Yet another shot that puts paid to the myth of a universal "Wartime Fit." In fact I'm beginning to wonder where it came from. Probably from several thousand vets outgrowing their jackets in peacetime.

I prefer the look of the first guy as I prefer a more fitted jacket. Images like this one are great cos they show differences in how they can fit.
