Nice loose fitting a2 in the first photo. Looks darkish with russet undertones coming through.

Nice and sharp photos - just on the aircraft, the first a P-40 not sure where and there may have been some sort of nose art as a touch of orange is barely visible on the left underneath the exhaust stubs, but the second remember seeing this photo in a stream on flicker, nice cameras - photo recon? This flicker user has some nice period photos

Great shots Dean. Many thanks. Those sheepskin jackets are interesting. The lower one might be a B-6 but I'm not sure and the other one is not a B-3, but what is it ? And that tan jacket, a civilian jacket perhaps ?

Just a stab, but I think that orange color peeking through are numbers on the film transparency.

Great images! I think they were LIFE pictures taken during wwii. You may find more at Google images - just add "source:life" to any terms you search.

Looks like 2 of the guys in the first pic are wearing A-9 helmets with added earcups- cool!
