I have my Grandfathers A-2 from WWII and on the inside of the jacket on the bottom of the lining it is marked "F/O Leland W. Steele T-122743" I assume that the F/O is for flight officer but I can not find any reference to what the T-122743 is, any ideas? thanks.
"T" was simply the designation used before a flight officer's serial number. "O" before a serial number such as O-34798 designated a commissioned officer such as a captain or major.
