9th AIR FORCE HISTORY...essential

I just took delivery of this new book on the 9th Air Force, it is by the same French author who wrote the excellent 8th AF Bombardment Groups history and it is in the same format. I would venture to say it is even better, there's some really rare colour photos of aircrew, loads of great pics of flight jackets. This publisher is pushing the boundaries of USAAF and US Army reference books....(note: the cover is different to that shown on Amazon)......

The one on the 8th is superb. If it's better than that then I'm definately on for a copy.

Have spent the afternoon lost in the amazing unpublished photos he's found for this book, most from vets albums includes the 9th early days in the middle east too, before they were sent to England for the build-up to D-Day. Shows the variety of flight jackets and tanker/field jackets worn by the 9th, plenty of B-10's for the T-bolt pilots especially. For any European forum guys there is a French language edition too (the publisher is French).
