48 star flag

It's a real one for sure, pretty common is estate liquidation sales here. Photo #5 shows a stamp, it's possible the flag is post WW2, may have a date with this stamp, some do.

Would have never known "fair dinkum" til I found it in a WW2 Aussie language booklet half a year ago.

How about you tell me what the max you would pay would be and I'll "find" you one for that amount.
Sorry, I just had to.

BTW, did a quick Ebay search and it's amazing to me how many people lay U.S. flags on the floor or ground or let them dangle in the dirt to take a pic. Call me old fashioned but I still respect the, "never let it hit the ground" thing as a matter of respect. I chalk it up to modern cluelessness.
Andrew, keep watching as there are a lot out there.

I agree, this guys price with postage is too much! I can do some looking too....nice 2' x 3' 48 star flags are around for about $10. The bigger 5' x 9' "coffin" sized flags sometimes are not that much more.

Question....do you want a mint unflown flag, or one in nice shape, but that has been used?

Thanks for the info guys, its just something i saw in passing and I like old flags probably because of the iconography. I will wait, it's not something that's essential but it'd have to be old/ flown.

I was curious about the aparent empty space at the base of the star section.

That empty space technically should not be there. I don't think being there makes the flag better either, because there are proportional rules for the dimensions of where things go, and this is flag does not make the grade.

IMO, being different is cool for a lot of things, but not a flag that is only different because the company that made it had poor quality control.

I was inclined to think it was possibly fooled with as it certainly doesn't look right. Thanks C.
