On thing which always puzzles me is: how can it be sure that during bomber formation flights and under attck by enemy fighters, all gunners are surely blasting the hell out of their M-50 Cal. guns and tracking the Me109 or FW190 or even Me262, but in the excitement and adrenaline, maybe they also hit a fellow formation flyer?
Also, flying formation with hundreds of guns pointing and shooting at a few ill trained , low morale, almost not experienced Jerries, ( at least after mid. 44) who will get the kill? and who keeps counting for the right figures ( for the allied statistics and intelligence)?
Just asking and wondering...
