1942 Aero-not quite as described.

Wartime Aeros with berry knits are sought after by collectors and this one looks very nice.

However this jacket is not quite what it seems. I remember the same jacket selling a couple of months back (same seller) to a former forum member. Then it had a Crown zipper and brown wristlets and a patch repair to the sleeve. Now it has a Talon zipper, berry wristlets and the repair is not mentioned. A couple of the measurements have also changed.

Andrew - reckon it's a "Fugazi" then where it's been adapted to make it more desirable / sellable?

I would have thought you were paranoid or the the original owner had two until I saw the right knits were with it in the original ad and that the tag appears to have the exact same wear spots. Pocket color variations match too. Good eye.
I feel it was appropriate to restore it to original configuration IF it had been messed with by anyone other than the original owner. Looks like a good job on that zipper. Too bad they didn't come clean about the restoration.

So it didn't really sell the first time. Always makes me wonder what happened, a simple return of the item or shill bid.

s'okay Andrew John's rep is high and his following loyal, but perhaps not in the same league ;)

We're talking at cross purposes Andrew, I was responding flippantly to the quote rather than commenting on the work...

While I'd never condone leaving undisclosed repairs out of an auction description, Andrew's tainted reputation as an seller himself makes his finger-pointing antics the worst kind of hypocrisy.

Miles this thread is about undisclosed repairs to your friend's jacket. Making it personal is both unhelpful and quite unnecessary. It is interesting to learn from you that I'm now a hypocrite with a tainted reputation. Please keep personal, unsubstantiated comments off the forum.
