Rare? It's so rare, Aero Scotland makes a repro of it and you never even see those! Now THAT's rare!!

The patches sure look alot newer than the jacket, that would be my biggest concern. I have an Aero repro of this and I like the extra stitching and tailor work. It hurts to see someone patch up an original jacket like that.

Is that snap at the bottom of the zipper normal for this contract ?
It should be a rivet like mine. I see it on the ebay jacket but you think he would show the zipper puller that talon is really cool.

Not so rare here in the states. I've seen three in the past couple years. An original Cooper or Werber are much rarer.

Too bad someone fucked up a perfectly good original with those lame patches.

"Condition is excellent"...doesn't look so to me, the collar is cracking badly and the lining looks like a replacement. The patches do look later additions, I've seen better...this hen needs the dentist!

I should re-phrase, not as rare as hens teeth but rare. I have found pictures which I saved of a larger size 1938 Aero which was on Ebay earlier this year. I wonder what size this pre-War contract was? I suspect it was relatively small. The condition of this Aero certainly leaves a lot to be desired. The lining appears to be old, judging by the wear at the neck and if it is a replacement it was done many year ago, most likely in the war. The chest patch looks like a post war later addition as do the CBI patches. Does anyone know anything about the reputation of this seller? Until yesterday he was selling a size 44 1940 Aero but it is now no longer for sale. He is also selling a very nice A2 by Doniger, bearing the no name contract-AC 29981. Andrew,
Saw the Doniger. That contract is rarer than the one with Doniger on the spec tag. It is the same model I have only mine went through the depot and has a dark seal on it also has a USAF decal. This one looks nice but one has to wonder whether the patch is original to the jacket or not. Believe it or not I have only seen about 4 jackets of this contract and never once in the original russet so this is a first for me. Nice looking jacket it very good condition.

I have never seen a russet no name Doniger in this superb condition. The BIN price was reasonable but withouta reserve disappeared on the first bid.

I would guess the patch is original to the jacket. If someone wanted to add a patch, I would guess they would add something better than the low end ATC decal patch. Just a guess.
