Someone is offering me this USN jacket
Jacket has no tags and scalloped pocket flaps.

Anyone can identify it?

Looks like the back panel is seamed over the front panel at the shoulder, and there is no horizontal stitching at the back of the collar. Signs of an early jacket?

there are a few early jackets without the 6-7 horizontal stitching lines
but have either yellow or black stencil

this is the only one I have seen with white/silver stitching

what do you think?

site will be updated when new products are ready.
new products are not ready because we are looking to upgrade the leathers

it's unimaginably hard to find suitable leathers so it takes time, sorry

CONTRACT NXS-290 is a Willis and Geiger contract number. So is NOs-290A apparently.

SPECIFICATION M 422A WILLIS AND GEIGER INC. CONTRACT-Nos.290A
SPECIFICATION M 422a WILLIS AND GEIGER INC. CONTRACT-N Xs-290
SPECIFICATION M 422 WILLIS AND GEIGER INC. CONTRACT-No. S-74892

So do you have the jacket now?

They are the same contract ... other W & G M422 contracts are N156s 16957, and Nos 85956.

yes that '290' contract is similar to the nomenclature of the Gordon and Ferguson 416. Same contract but different.

There has to be significance to the differentiation between NXs and NOs and the 'A' suffix.

Also Fried Ostermann NOS 1406 A, and NXS 1406 EXT-A.
H & L Block NXS 5134, and NXsa 5134 ... just to further confuse.

i concur. w&g m-422a. same as the one i own. very nicely made i might add, and properly proportioned as against the w&g m-422 which had short sleeves [wtf?], i mean really short. in fact, you will see w&g m-422s that were depot rebuilt with an addition of appx. 4" added to the sleeves.
