WW2 Crown Zipper Pull

The zipper pull on my A-2 jacket broke . I was thinking of
replacing with a Crown zipper pull .
The vendor states that the WW2 Crown zipper pull will fit the A-2
jackets that are made today.
Are special tools required ? On one side , I love the look of the
Crown zipper & I might save if I did it myself. On the other side…..
WW2 crown zippers ,being that old , may break if not done correctly .
Any thoughts on where this work may be done ? Thanks !

The quick answer is yes!,,,,,,,,,,,,,pictures would help.If the pulls are the same size you shouldn't have a problem. All you have to do is take off the pull stop on the side the pull is on,,,then work the Crown pull on the zip and reinstall the zip stop.I have done this on a couple of repos with no problems.

I recently read that the WW2 Crown zipper pull will break even if
they are in like new condition..they are weak . Instead it was suggested
I use "Talon" zippers. I mentioned Crown zippers because they were listed as original WW2 Crown & also I like the looks.
Have you used the Crown zippers ? What type have you used that
will hold up ? Thanks !
