What colour was most commonly used for the USN/U.S.N. stamp on the underside of M422a/early G1 collars?

U.S.N seem to come later, on the AN-J-3a by L.W Foster which is marked the same as the later 55J14 with italic letters. Only one to have the full USN instead of just the US on all the other AN designation jackets, an the Bogen think only one marked U.S
55J14 Pritzker, Foster and Star all have U.S.N
As does the later 7823(aer) Monarch and Fosters
