The M1941 US Army Field Jacket or Parsons jacket.

Hello,
I acquired this M41 field jacket from ebay and wanted to show it. I had been wanting one for some time. I didn't want to spend a lot on one and I got this for a good price ( I think). It is lightly stained at the top but is in good condition. It is a size 38R, is missing the bottom button and has no tag or date. It was superseded by the 43 field jacket (as most here know).

Here is my other M-41 jacket I have had before ebay existed. It is a size 40-41R. The top of the collar is torn. There had been insignia at some time on the sleeves. The sleeve has a tear

Thanks B-man2! I feel the same way, I wanted to get another one, in decent condition, while they were being offered on a weekly basis on ebay. One of them sold for over 989 dollars, but that was probably because it had a readable label. I didn't care about the tag or label because the M-41 jacket wasn't manufactured after WW2 so therefore it can only be a WW2 period jacket (unless it's a known repro).

I’ve always liked this jacket but having handled a few of them, I never thought the jacket was substantial enough to be worn in some of the colder temperatures experienced in Europe during WWII.
My thoughts as well. Just look on the late war jackets and coats of the Wehrmacht and SS, if you compare a M41 to a Charkov parka for example the M41 looks like a joke when it comes to protection against cold.
But for a rougher Europen summer the M41 is perfect and so it was at D-day
