Storage? Whats the proper way to store multiple jackets?

My collection is getting a bit large for me, Small compared to most of you,
but large compared to my closet (too many rifles). So whats the BEST way to store
the coats? I DO have a moth issue, I have lost a couple suits to these demons
so I worry about the knits. I thought about padded hangers, but what I settled
on is long flat rubber made containers that can roll under the bed. They can
be locked air tight. Should Goat be kept with Goat? Horse with Horse? does
it matter? (a B-3 is sheep and Horse) Can the plastic touch the leather for
long periods of time? Should the coats be wrapped in plastic or paper
to keep the hides off the rubber made material? Wrapped in newspaper or
meat wrapping paper or a sheet? Whats the consensus?

I'd avoid leaving the leather in contact with plastics or rubber for prolonged periods of time as neither are stable over longer timescales. The hides will be acidic and over time plasticisers in the polymer could leach out and stain the leather.
Rubber is worse - it can creep and flow into the bargain...
Newspaper is also far from neutral pH - avoid.

Doc,
So youre suggesting wrapping the jackets in something before putting them in the plastic boxes?
or hanging them and taking a chance with the moths?
I understand the Acidic Basic issue, but I didnt consider it.

If you're going to wrap them in anything I would use cotton bed sheets or large pillow cases. A cedar chest is good for storage and keeping away moths, but if you don't have one cedar chips or blocks placed in your storage container would help. If there is any humidity in the room you're storing your jackets I would beware of plastic containers unless you use desiccant packets as mold could develop on the leather. Eastman makes an expensive cardboard jacket storage system but it does nothing to repel moths.

We have no humidity in the winter such that the heels of our feet dry up
so much the skin falls off. In the summer we use Evaporative coolers
that work by drawing in air through a water bath and as it evaporates it cools
the air, tossing LOADS of humidity into the house in the summer.
So problems exist. i am not buying the Eastman thing but I have seen it.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Or we could talk about the Eastman cardboard box storage system, but that would go on for days.
