Bevan had this custom jacket made well over ten years ago. Vintage sheepskin with 10 mm fleece trimmed in veg tanned russet goat size 46. I Bought it off him and had the waist taken in by Aero, they did a fantastic job. I think it w as still rather loose on me so that prompted the sale on eBay to a German collector. Recently it was offered back to me so I couldn't miss the chance.
It had been worn a lot and was a little dirty so I carefully washed in the bath in warm water and olive oil shower gel. After a spin and air drying for 48 hours I tumbled it on hot. It now fits much better and I am delighted with the result. 20180131_152314.jpg 20180131_152237.jpg 20180131_143229.jpg 20180131_143236.jpg 20180131_143041.jpg

Ooh John that's nice, very nice! Not sure I'd have had the nerve to wash it in the bath but it clearly paid off!!

I does rattle the nerves but with handwashing you have total control.

    Lovely jacket.
I am always amazed about how the camera takes pictures that makes a item ( in this case your jacket ) look so different in colour.
The first photo looks so different to the other pictures of the jacket.

There is a current thread on the Hat place where the OP is stating his Aero jacket he recently received is a different colour to what he was expecting when bought and the pictures he saw. Very similar to the above.

Hopefully John you can start wearing it with the better fit this time around.

How long did you put in in the dryer on hot setting ?

My camera made the goat skin look more red than in reality so I did alter the shades to get a better result.
I tumbled it when it was damp but not sopping wet on hot for about 30 minutes twice. It then took a further two days air drying to be completely done.

I am Andrew. The shorter fleece means it's not too bulky or hot to wear

Wow. Looks like new. By 10 fleece does that mean 10mm? Looks much more comfortable than, say, a B-3.

Congrats John, great jacket. I wore my RMC M445 today, I much prefer the collar of the M445 over the ANJ-4, it’s still large but not as ostentatious as the ANJ-4’s.

    Don’t sell this one!
