Wow, that's interesting. Never seen one like it. Sure looks like an authentic military issue jacket to me. Maybe USN ?

the talon zippers would date the jac to the 1930s, fer sure.

I believe this is an authentic garment from the late 1930s. It looks like it could be a cut down 37S5 US Navy flying suit or a variant of it. They were often blanket lined like this one, but not necessarily made of leather. This style of Talon zip was used from 1933 to 1939. There appears to be large ring used on the cuffs and the blue prints for these date to 1938.
