Argh, you are a wicked, wicked man, Dave. I don't need another A-2 and my finances are in no shape for it, but damn that is tempting.

My Nan who passed away last year at 100, worked for Irvin Airchute in Letchworth and worked on flying jackets. Being chapel she was virtually tea total though.

It's all nuance and definitely off if Vera and Mar-Ellen went drinking the night before! Lol

God Bless Vera and Mar-Ellen!! I think a lot would have come down to the 'ladies of the line'...

Forum or Facebook? The jacket and pics look great on both...

Forum actually... I have never sold anything on FB... EVER! Oh take that back, sold a used Sony camera to a cousin of mine on there, but that was it.

Tire kickers ABOUND on FB... and love to "LIKE" things, but nothing else. That or they start a conversation with me via the messaging app, ask 300
stupid questions, and still buy nothing. It really is not all that great unless you have a lot of time and money to saturate the social media scene, and
get something to trend, it is pretty much a waste of time, IMHO. YMMV

Re: Poughkeepsie W535ac28560 Sz 42 #2

Poughkeepsie, 28560 (#2)
Made with a new format of Steer which is virtually indistinguishable from Horsehide, this seems to further reinforce that the base hide is less important than the tannage! .9 to 1 mm in thickness, this chrome tanned hide features a perfect amount of stiffness and weight for WWII jackets and the color must be seen in person, to be believed. This jacket also features the "wheat" colored lining as seen in some Poughkeepsie jackets from this contract. Zipper is a nickel repro by Waldes, Japan, which has been gilded over the base, and then weathered to a slight degree. This will not degrade the operation of the zipper in any way, but just serves to add one more degree of authenticity.

Dave, you continue to make it apparent to me that my jacket addiction will never subside so long as I keep checking into this forum. It looks lovely!

LOL! Sorry to feed the addiction... sometimes I wish I was like the local cocaine dealer, and could offer your "first taste for free".. then I'd be busy as hell, huh?

If you're offering the first jacket for free.... :D

All kidding aside, I have to admire great jackets when they are pictured. In a perfect world I would have unlimited funds, plenty of storage space, and 365 days a year of jacket weather...

That is a stunning jacket.
The leather is impressive, looks to be a perfect match for original jacket leather.
The wheat coloured lining is a nice touch.
