Here's a kind of unusual jacket. It's a Block M-422a but with a civilian label. It's identical to the government issue H&L Block M-422a complete with wartime Talon zip, pleated salmon color lining and knits. The only thing missing is the USN stencil under the collar. Maybe Block sold them as surplus after the war or during? Could be anyone's guess Anyhow it certainly is unusual. Sorry for the fuzzy iphone photo.

Bought the jacket a couple years ago from one of my Chicago jacket buddies.

Does it have a pen slot in the pocket? No stitching showing as in some of the first M422s.

Only the Gordon and Ferguson has the stitching. The Block has the pen slot on the inside with no stitching on the outside
