Can anybody tell me anything about the following deck jacket contracts please?

Are either of the following wartime/post war or fictitious:

N-140-62236s-27966B
NSSX 1488

Thanks

Ian

Ian, based on my limited experience the first one looks fictitious and the second one looks like a wartime contract

Hello Ian,
just in case you don't already know it, on US Militaria Forum there' an old thread about navy contracts:

http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1590

Quoting some post:
"N-140 represents the Navy Purchasing Office New York"
" it seems that when you have a N140 with two sets of contract numbers it is post WWII"

On this thread there's no mention of the NSSX contracts, just NXSX or NXSS.

Thanks both, still not 100% whether I'm watching kosher or good repro jackets in this case (serial numbers not quite 100%), but I'll monitor the bids to see whether they go too high.
