Irvin coastal command jacket.

Just got hold of this one and it needs some TLC for sure.
The question is do I rebuild the hood or take it off and fit a collar.

My take, originals are only original once. Too many CC Irvin's have list their hoods over the years, if you don't like it but another collared version.

Leave it as is, Don’t know who you were thinking of using, if anyone, but I know that Aero have refused to do that conversion in the past.

It’s a historical piece and there aren’t many of them left . I would have the jacket restored to its original condition with the hood . Just my opinion .

I agree only original once you will remove the history of the jacket by removing the collar

Ok gent's
I will rebuild the hood I'm quite capable of doing it myself I have the machine's for doing this and I also have enough fleece from a pair of Irvin trousers that where to far gone to be saved.
It's also missing it's belt so I'll have to source one or make it.
