Hi there,
I have a few questions about this jacket? Could you guys help me out, please? I don't know if this jacket was issued for the military or just a civilian leather jacket.
What era is it? and which manufacturer?
is it a flight jacket?

Cheers, Dtai

It’s never been a US military issued flight jacket and I seriously doubt that it’s ever been an issued flight jacket from another nation.

Agreed with you on that @B-Man2 to me it's more like a civilian leather jacket with military flavour influence. Which era would that be, the 30s,40s, or 50s?

Looks more like the 80s or 90s to me , those cuffs were made that way to hike up the forearms like the old Miami Vice And Disco days .

Your jacket reminds me of one of these old horsehide civilian bomber jackets
With the cuffs replaced, and based on their color and leather difference I think they were
This one is made by fidelity leather according to the site I got the pics from
They said it was 50s/60s

Thanks, @busdrivermike wow, that is interesting. I'm certain that the cuff was replaced but then I'm confused about the zipper. the on your pics shows sharp corner collar but mine is round. don't you think?

These were made by any number of companies after the war-Mike’s done well to find that one, the closest I got (on Google) was one by Wolf Leathers called a Guide Master, but that had a chest pocket. Looking at the handwarmer pocket position, I don’t think these two are from the same company. It’s also entirely possible that the zip and collar have also been changed.

I just Googled ‘Guide Master Wolf leather jacket’. A few come up, similar but not identical. I tried saving one but it wouldn’t have it.

@dtai you are right about the collar difference but as @MikeyB-17 said these
Are made by various companies, with out a label all one can do is compare
And for a few decades from the 50s- 70s there appears were many companies making very
Similar jackets like this one below Made by Lincoln Ellsworth Sports Apparel
It has a very similar collar but a sheepskin liner, so yours may have also had
The liner replaced , as well as cuffs and zip especially if it’s from the 50s/60s
And From my search many had heavier liners
I was searching ( vintage horsehide bomber jacket men’s ) and saw a few variations
As you can see in the pics I posted one has a zippered chest pocket one doesn’t
I remember stumbling across that design once searching old jackets
Here’s a link to the site showing it also

This has got me thinking about a fivestar horsehide reproduction especially with
These last photos of the Lincoln Ellsworth Sports Apparel, hmmmmmmmm
Uh oh my wallets getting warm and I think the wife can tell as she’s turned
looking at me with that look she gives
But I do like this and with a shearling liner it’s great for fall winter and spring weather in Canada
uhoh I think she hears The gears turning :p

Thanks, @busdrivermike. Great info I found one as well but was made by Fidelity sportswear.
So we all agreed that cuffs were replaced by the previous owner, Zippers perhaps? and the era of the jacket would be the late 40s-50s I guess.
below pics are I found.
