anyone notice on the Eastman website the Pearl Harbor and .50 Cal jackets are now Horse, no more Steer.

Oh, true, veggie-tanned Horse.....

Maybe they are using up the excess horsehide in stock?

But this is quite an interesting trend these days. Lewis Leathers, the biker jacket maker, also have converted to the use of horsehide as their standard offerings instead of steers.

The steerhide and goatskin jackets have been gradually disappearing from their product range for a while now.
I can only guess that there is a much bigger demand for horse hide jackets.
