Great pictures Andrew. I presume the two size 38 A2s are too small for you as wearers, but just collecting pieces?

Yes, normally I wouldn't even look at jackets this small but I love painted jackets and these are a couple I could afford and I have had a fantastic time researching them.

My collection are all repros..............

A2 ELC Star
A2 ELC Pearl Harbour Havana
A2 Goodwear Aero 16160

A2 Cooper - Which started my terrible "disease" so never parted company with it despite it no longer being worn !!

B3 ELC

Irvin ELC 1942 pattern
Irvin Aero - Not a great Repro but never the less a well made jacket and extremely warm.

Irvin Aviator - My jacket of mystery. A very accurate repro made in the UK but have never been able to track down by who ! Not early ELC or Aero, and certainly not an Aviation Leathercraft.

Regards

Cliff

Cliff:

Is there any chance that you could post a picture of that GW Aero 16160? I'm aching to get one and would like to see a production jacket.

Thanks,

Noel

Only one the moment, and it's a BR L-2A Superior Togs (Olive lining). Since ELC has kinda fallen off for me (accept for the sheepskins) and Aero would have to pay me to wear anything they make (especially there sheepskins) that just leaves GW and since I can't afford one right now I'll just have to be happy with the BR L-2A for now!

this one is such nice green. how much should i expect to pay for one like this if one comes up?

Prices usually vary for this type of item, but I'd say upwards of $150 is not unusual especially for an Extra-Large example as here. This jacket used to be mine and the green shade is quite different from the usual sage color, which I've found to be typical of this particular late '61 Skyline contract. The jacket originally bore the insignia of the National Emergency Airborne Command Post Team 1. It was very inexpensive on Ebay due to the terrible condition of the original knits, but I had them restored and as you can see it now looks great.

By the way, Danny, the jacket fits you well. Enjoy it!

I'm still waiting on a original 63rd, 64th or 65th Bomb Squadron patch. When I have that, it will be a great companion (B-58 Hustler) jacket with my 305th Bomb Wing L-2B. I still believe the L-2Bs are much better to look and display than they are to wear. Really not made to wear with modern lower cut Levi 560 jeans. ;)
