Commercial A2's produced in the UK During WWII

Agree on all the speculation. There are many PP jackets and looking at the hardware is a first-line activity to help ID the era - it's just often inconclusive. Again, not that it didn't happen on some unique occasions, but there is nothing but a blog or forum-style post in the wiki quote and the German A-2 has no provenance and could have been made anywhere, anytime - not just when and where the hardware originated. And our P-47s got all the German horses.

P.S. Sure not criticizing Burt as this is a great holy grail to hunt. I'm sure there is a story or two of an A-2 being commissioned but it sure would be nice to at least find a vet's story about it even if the jacket is long gone.

Just wait, Buzz will pop one out and folks at the Hat Place will go nuts on the absolute confirmation that UK-made private purchase jackets existed.

P.S. Why has there never been a V505 repro? Given our love for all things niche I would think some enterprising bloke would sell a few.
