I've often wondered why The US opted for brown tones over black for their gear.

If they called it a William Gibson, then everyone would want it... Ask any non-jacket types what they would prefer out of a normal seal/russet B-3 and the all black version and they would take the black one any day of the week.

Very strange that it's made in NZ as RMNZ closed up shop last May.

Since I saw this on the secondary market I don't know where it was in stores...maybe winter 2014~2015?

Yes, I think honey coloured mouton collars go great with black leather.
