Another nice jacket that in fact fits 1-2 sizes up. I'm a 46 chest with very wide shoulder and this jacket fits me great.

All the quality you come to expect from BR. These cord jackets only get better with age like a good pair of jeans.

Cheers,

I really like that jacket but being an Army guy just could not go with US Navy on the back. BR has a tan version of this jacket which looks neat too.

I guess this is BR's latest model of this jacket? The addition of "USN" to the left chest is a curious one as I'd always thought (from what I've read here and elsewhere on the net) that this was something one only found on the green N-1's and was a replacement for the "US NAVY" stencil on the back. But then I don't recall ever seeing an original zip deck jacket; anyone have any pic's?

That MASH CO one is weird. It's lined in alpaca whereas the blue ones are lined in blue blanket.

Here's an explanation from the BR website:

http://www.buzzricksons.jp/product/us_navy-0008.html

And here's one on Yahoo.jp auctions:

http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x49936769

Forum member Couchy has a MASH one for sale right now:

But I much prefer the look, esp. the colour, of the Buzz one.

Dave/JACKET_HEAD where did you get your jacket from? Are sure it's a Buzz? Looking here at BR's website, there's still no USN on the left chest:

Miles, the contract numbers don't match, Dave's jacket is the earlier version that Eastman was selling .... NXs14680.

And still no USN on the chest.

What ...... ?

You think that Dave wouldn't resort to a little customisation ?? :)

Good spot. Is that contract number a genuine USN one or just a Buzz model number?

I think it's a Buzz number ... I don't have any reference for these, but it doesn't Google.

Navy seabee, Normandy 1944, including the deck jacket. Modern photo using original gear. I wouldn't bother with the boots. You might get some funny looks.

Here's the back of my BR Seabees deck jacket; I like it a lot more than the regular version that simply reads "US NAVY".

It's a really nice jacket actually, cut much better than the Army Tanker, but I've only worn it 2 or 3 times, probably because the colour doesn't look as good with jeans as olive drab or khaki - no contrast - and wondering if I should hang on to it.
