Bolus Head Memorial to VB-110

The wife and I are on vacation in Ireland and were doing the Ring of Kerry. Part of the Ring can include the Loop Road to Bolus Head. There at the end of the road is a memorial to a Liberator from VB-110 that crashed off the coast in '44. I looked the squadron up and found that they were an anti-submarine group that flew out of Dunkeswell. The squadron later flew PBY's. Funny feeling standing there reading the plaque wearing my BK A-2.

indeed interesting. i have had, for a few years, a mint G&F M-422a from a Navy pilot who flew Liberators from Dunkeswell. i think his squadron was VB-105. i have wanted to make the trip to the air field, where they now have a museum. thanks for the post. bob
