B-29 civilian flying jacket by Buzz Rickson

I recently examined one of these new repro B-29 jackets by Buzz Rickson and was wondering if anyone on here has ever seen an original equivalent jacket?

I can't say that I've seen a jacket exactly like it but it resembles a lot of different jackets. I'm not really taken with it. Sort of non-descript.

like this one? 5th AF patch and Ltc leafs on shoulders,,has been in private collection since the late 60's or early 70's or so I am told
everything looks good on it...

So what is the story on these jackets? I thought it was a private purchase thing or custom made in theater...If BR is repoping them, I assume they were a civilian production run....?

I'm sure the the B-29 is a nice jacket, but it doesn't exactly blow me away. I do like the wool and cotton grosgrain M-445's though.
