Yes I can see them! Why do you say it's Conelly hide? Is that fact recorded on the contract? I'm curious because that name or rather Conolly Leathers has cropped up before but with a repro and is a British company who to this day ( I believe) still supply hides for Rolls Royce! Bit of a coincidence with the name and if the same I have grave doubts they would have supplied Aero back then although I believe may have at sometime supplied Aeroleather Scotland in the more recent past - Ken Calder may confirm but jacket don't look like a repro!!

I should have made the heading clear that the jacket is an AERO LEATHER SCOTLAND.
    My mistake , sorry .

As I said, it does look like an original to me! I had an Aero Scotland M422a and it was nothing like that and I would have kept if it did!!

Yes it is an Aero, circa 1984/85. 100%
Couldn't swear it's Connolly though as the aging doesn't look like Connolly. We were using all sorts of odd (price led) leathers at that time
It's aged nicely, wish I'd put a Talon zipper in on replection

Did you give it enough wear to judge?

Hi Ken, sorry I wasn't being critical, it was a lovely jacket but even after several years of wear it never really softened up plus it looked more like an early G1 - I prefer more pointy collars! Ironically I found the cardboard tag that it came with only the other day, bought from you I'm guessing about 14-15 years ago and only sold 'cos I wasn't wearing due to acquiring two early contract Cagleco G1's, both mid 50's.

For years we used a Goatskin that, in my opinion, was to thick, too stiff and took forever to age. This was led by strong customer demand, we've recently gone back to the type of Goat that was used during WW2

What size is it Carl? If it's a 44 I'd be interested in first dibs if price is right!

That 'thick' goat sounds about right, it could almost stand up on its own but did develop a nice burnished look around the seams, pockets etc - it also had the red satin lining unlike Carl's. Would you guys have added the name tag? That and the overall condition made me think it was original!!

The name tag could be original (I had quite a few at the time) or it could be one of our repros.
We often put one on our USN jacketsat that time, there's something vaguely familiar about the name
