A-1 Pockets Question

I see on the Navy variants of the A-1 Jackets the pockets are higher up on the body than the USAF version

Does anyone know why that is?

Thanks all

I'm not sure those navy jackets are truly A-1s -- the "A" signifying army.

Yeah, they have similar designs, but in those days there wasn't a lot of solid spec designation.

Oh yeah, and it was the AAC, back then. The USAF wasn't founded until 1947. ;)
